Commitment to Sustainability
Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement is dedicated to fostering sustainable development and achieving energy sovereignty. Through the CECAP, eMission will help reduce costs and support the long-term well-being of the community. Project efforts focus on benchmarking energy use, identifying inefficiencies, and setting actionable targets for emissions reduction.
Key Features of CECAP
Phase I: Benchmarking
In the initial phase, a comprehensive analysis of current energy consumption and GHG emissions within the community will be conducted. This includes evaluating residential buildings, public infrastructure, fleet vehicles/equipment and waste collection. The goal is to establish a clear baseline that identifies inefficiencies and high-emission areas.
Phase II: Action Plan
Building on the insights from Phase I, Phase II will develop a strategic roadmap to achieve energy and emission reduction targets. This phase involves selecting appropriate technologies, setting budgets, defining timelines, and engaging the community to ensure successful implementation and long-term sustainability.

Government Funding
This project secured 100% funding through federal and provincial programs dedicated to supporting community initiatives. By leveraging these government resources, the project was able to move forward without placing financial burden on the community, ensuring a strong foundation for impactful planning and long-term outcomes.
